China Telecom's Chongqing branch and China Unicom's Chongqing branch will cooperate and construct over 10,000 5G base stations in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality during the first half of this year.

According to the plan, China Telecom will construct over 6,000 5G base stations and China Unicom will construct the rest. When completed, the central areas in Chongqing’s downtown and counties will be covered with 5G signals.

China Telecom and China Unicom has cooperated to co-construct a 5G network nationwide since 2019. By the end of 2019, China Telecom and China Unicom's Chongqing branches had co-constructed over 4,000 5G base stations covering major areas.

Based on the 5G infrastructure, China Telecom's Chongqing branch has boosted the integration of 5G with various industries, as well as promoted the upgrading of industrial internet.

In 2019, China Telecom's Chongqing branch provided cloud services for over 200 small and medium-sized companies, as well as extranet services for over 800 companies.

In addition to 5G construction, China Telecom attaches importance to new infrastructure system construction. The first stage of China Telecom's cloud computing base in Liangjiang Cloud Computing Industrial Park was put into operation in 2016, while the second stage is under construction and is expected to be finished by the end of 2020.

The second stage of a data center co-established by China Telecom's Chongqing branch and Tenglong Holding Group will be completed in May. When constructed, the data center will support the development of Chongqing's big data and smart industries.

Currently, Liangjiang Cloud Computing Industrial Park has gathered data centers, such as those by Inspur, China Unicom, China Telecom, China Mobile, and Tenglong, which has contributed to the rapid growth of government affairs, videos, games, finance, industry, e-commerce, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
