On June 30, the first stage of the China Mobile (Chongqing) Data Center officially started in the cloud computing industrial park of Chongqing Liangjiang.
The project received over 10 billion yuan in investments, and is the biggest scale data center in Chongqing. It will play an important promoting role in accelerating the integration of information and industrialization.
The project has a construction area of over 120,000 square meters and total investment of 10.38 billion yuan ($1.67 billion). It will be built in two stages. The first stage is estimated to be finished in 2016, with operational capability of 4,800 cabinets and about 32,000 servers.
In the future, the project will have operational capacity of 13,000 cabinets and about 130,000 sets of servers.
The settlement of China Mobile Data Center in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area is one of the important base installations for China Mobile in the west. It will bring excellent base installation and open platform to related industries of Chongqing cloud computing.
Now China Mobile is wholly accelerating its move toward cloud computing application. Enterprise private cloud of China Mobile already has server scale of over 12,000 sets.
During the recent 2014 Mobile Asia EXPO, China Mobile officially released its mobile cloud product, providing public cloud service for enterprises, government and individuals.
