Liangjiang New Area (LNA) tourism again reached a new record high during the 2014 May Day holiday. The number of tourists reached 4.107 million up to and including May 3rd, with an increase of 31.59 percent compared with the previous year. Tourism income reached 1.35 billion yuan, growing by 35.88 percent compared with the same period in 2013.
Appreciating flowers at Huangpi, feeling stimuli at Happy Valley, and climbing the Yellow Crane Tower (a symbol of gratitude to one Taoist priest) in Liangjiang New Area became new attractions for traveling in Liangjiang.
During the 2014 May Day holiday, 944 people experienced the "Yellow Crane Tower • Liangjiang tour • Qingchuan Pavilion" amphibious travel routes. Most of the tourists who experienced this new tour style were from northern China. The beautiful scenery in LNA attracted new visitors. Many scenic spots including Mulan Tianchi, Mulan prairie, and Jinli trench in Huangpi district, received their full quota by 10:00 every morning. Tour cars filled the parking lots in front of the farm restaurants along the Mulan Avenue extending dozens of kilometers on May 3rd. However, no visitors were delayed in spite of the large number of tourists. Huangpi district received 1.085 million people in three days, with revenues of 325 million yuan.
In 2014, 26 tour attractions in Liangjiang New Area made strict price cuts, falling 25 percent. Meanwhile, low travel costs effectively attracted the tourists.
