Liangjiang New Area (LNA) is actively trying to set up a cross-border electronic commerce industry park, which is expected to reach an annual transaction quota of 300 billion yuan ($48.51 billion), according to news from the management committee of Liangjiang New Area.
Citizens can not only purchase goods online, but also sell goods to consumers around the world. Liangjiang New Area will focus on logistics, commerce and the new service industry to establish a modern service base. The area includes a head economy base and feature industry park, as well as the most attractive cross-border electronic commerce industry park. It will cover an area of 5 square kilometers.
Large e-commerce enterprises will be brought into Liangjiang New Area. At the same time, relying on bounded areas and an airport area, a public service platform for cross-border trade will be set up in order to test port customs clearance, tax management, foreign exchange settlement and other patterns.
Liangjiang New Area will set up a trading market for imported goods formed by uniting the physical market network with an electric trading platform, aiming at establishing the west modern commerce distribution center in China.
Import transactions for the trading market are expected to reach 100 billion yuan in the future. Total imports will reach $10 billion in the future.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
