Lan Yi, a physician of the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (Women and Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University), or CQHCWC, in Southwest China's Chongqing, won an award for her outstanding contributions to the city's overseas medical aid work, during a meeting held on May 8.

Deng Li, deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, presided over the meeting to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Chongqing's first dispatching of medical aid teams to foreign countries.

Dan Yanzheng, vice mayor of Chongqing, He Zhaohua, an official from the National Health Commission, and other municipal representatives attended the event, where teams and individuals who have made outstanding contributions were granted awards.

As an associate chief physician at the Gynecology First Department of the CQHCWC, Lan is also a member of the 11th Chinese medical aid team to Papua New Guinea. She gave 16 months of medical aid at Port Moresby General Hospital in the country's capital from March 2021 to July 2022.

Over recent years, CQHCWC has actively participated in medical aid launched by the country and the city.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the first dispatching of Chinese medical aid teams to foreign countries. Moving forward, CQHCWC is expected to continue strengthening the training of high-quality medical aid personnel to make more significant contributions to constructing a collaborative health community for humanity.
