The Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (Women and Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University), or CQHCWC, in Southwest China's Chongqing, has been licensed as an "industry-education integration postgraduate joint training base" by the West China School of Public Health/West China Fourth Hospital of Sichuan University, in Chengdu, captial city of Southwest China's Sichuan province.

Three representatives from the CQHCWC went to the hospital in Chengdu to attend the licensing meeting. Luo Qian, deputy director of the center's academic affairs department, also introduced how the two sides could best cooperate to meet demand.

Such a move is expected to enhance the medical service capacity in the Chengdu-Chongqing area, promote the integration of industry and education, transform and develop teaching in this part of the healthcare industry.

The integration of industry and education is an effective measure for the country to promote the priority development of education, talent-led development, industrial innovation and high-quality economic development, as well as the interconnection, coordination and mutual promotional efforts between universities and enterprises, schools and other local venues.

The CQHCWC and the West China School of Public Health have had multiple in-depth communications to date. The agreement to co-build a training base aims to cultivate public health professionals with core competence in the new era, and innovatively promote all-round cooperation in personnel training, scientific research, achievements, social services, and so on.

The CQHCWC now stands as a joint training base for public health postgraduates from both Chongqing Medical University and Sichuan University.

Moving forward, the center will continuously deepen the reform of postgraduate education and improve the quality of medical education , in order to train more high-level professionals in the field of public health for the country's benefit and promote the high-quality development of the center.
