CQHCWC expert to study in Japan

Chi Yugang, director of the Gynaecology First Department (General Gynecology Department) of the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children (Women and Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University), or CQHCWC, in Southwest China's Chongqing, was recently invited to visit and study for one year at the University of Tokyo in Japan.

Chi will major in the pathogenesis and treatment of intrauterine diseases, laparoscopic minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of gynecological diseases, to name a few. His studies will include observation and learning in the surgery center, study in the clinical research center, as well as observation and learning in the surgical endoscopy center.

Professor Yutaka Osuga, vice president of the University of Tokyo Hospital, will serve as Chi’s instructor. His research focuses on reproductive medicine, laparoscopic surgery, and assisted reproductive technology. He is a committee member of the Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Japan Society of Reproductive Medicine, as well as deputy editor of Reproductive Sciences.

The University of Tokyo is a comprehensive national university headquartered in Bunkyo City of Tokyo, and is considered to be one of Japan’s top universities. In the 2023 World University Rankings, it ranked 23rd in the world and 1st in Japan.

The University of Tokyo Hospital receives 638,600 outpatients and 335,400 inpatients annually. More than 11,000 operations are carried out each year, ranking among the top university-affiliated hospitals in Japan. 

The hospital currently employs about 4,000 doctors, nurses, clinical experimental technicians, and administrative personnel and offers a full range of medical services. In 2022, it was honored as the best hospital in Japan.

Moving forward, the CQHCWC will continue to deepen international exchanges, cultivate high-level, international and inter-disciplinary professionals, and promote discipline development and scientific and technological innovation, so as to speed up the construction of a modern international maternal and child hospital.
