The annual report meeting of the 4th Workshop of Cancer Cervical Cancer Examination for Women in Rural Areas, initiated by the National Health Commission, was held in Beijing on Jan 3-5, according to the organizers.

The workshop focused on the Cervical Cancer Prevention and Control Technology Training Base in the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children, or the CQHCWC.

Experts from the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association project team fully affirmed the efforts made by the CQHCWC to develop the project -- and awarded a new license for the next five years to the hospital.

Yang Jun, deputy director of the Cervical Disease Center of the CQHCWC, attended the meeting and received the license.

The first license of the Cervical Cancer Prevention and Control Technology Training Base was given to the CQHCWC by the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association in 2015.

The hospital has actively carried out clinical research and teaching about cervical diseases over the past five years.

It has held 35 sessions of five specialized training courses and hosted two national level medical conferences, involving 295 physicians from across the country.

Officials said the base passed the review and inspection of the project expert group in July last year.
