A group of experts from Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children – the CQHCWC -- came to Chongqing Dongnan Hospital to promote the standardized diagnosis and treatment of cervical precancerous lesions and colposcopy techniques on Nov 24.

They lectured on various topics including the management of abnormal cervical screening results and the interpretation of the latest colposcopy terms.

They also covered the analysis of difficult colposcopy cases, prevention and management of medical disputes, and new advances in HPV vaccine and clinical applications.

It was part of a project initiated by Chongqing municipal government to promote appropriate healthcare technologies.

The person in charge of the project, Long Xin, who is also the deputy director of the Cervical Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center of the CQHCWC, delivered a speech and extended a warm welcome to the participants.

“We hope that through the promotion of appropriate technologies, standardized colposcopy technology can be applied in various hospitals, thereby detecting cancers as early as possible to ensure the health of females,” Long said.

After the lectures, the experts visited Dongnan Hospital's colposcopy room and LEEP operating room. They gave professional guidance on colposcopy operation on the spot.

The participants said that they had benefited a lot from the lessons given by the CQHCWC experts and hoped that they would have the opportunity to participate in more relevant workshops to gain a better understanding of cervical cancer and precancerous lesions.
