The Chongqing 2019 birth certificate workshop was held in the city's Kaizhou district on July 17.

The event was organized by the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children in a bid to standardize and further enhance the city's birth certificate management.

At the opening ceremony, Fan Honglian, director of the Maternal and Child Health Division of the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, put forward several requirements for the work including deepening understanding of the significance of birth certificate management, implementing rectification measures to solve existing problems found in the recent investigations, reinforcing training to elevate work quality, strengthening a sense of responsibility and reinforcing management and supervision.  

In the workshop, Kaizhou district, Wuxi County and Jiulongpo district reported on their work situation, and Wang Zhenglin from the Chongqing Health Center for Women and Children described the city's overall achievements on birth certificate management in 2018 and their investigation in 2019. After that, tutors and participating trainees had in-depth discussions about the difficulties and problems found in real cases, providing reference for further work.

Before the workshop concluded Zheng Xiangpeng, deputy director of the Maternal and Child Health Division of the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, highlighted the necessary sense of responsibility and the need for study, regulation and rectification to help elevate the city's birth certificate management through joint effort.

More than 80 people in birth certificate management from 40 districts and counties, as well as administrative personnel from the health commissions of Kaizhou district, Wuxi county and Jiulongpo district, participated in the event.
