It was the third major contract inked between the two sides, marking a new height of the cooperation between the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) and the ITER and the CNNC's competitiveness as well as influence in the field of global nuclear power engineering.

To secure the SMPA contract, the CNPE-led consortium has conducted detailed investigations and strategic preparations for over two years. It has also engaged in closer cooperation with international giants like Italian SIMIC and French Framatome and earned high recognition from ITER with its extraordinary technical plans and strong overall strength, laying a solid foundation for the ultimate signing of the contract.

The CNPE-led international cooperation approach has not only underscored its international competitiveness in the nuclear power market but also opened new paths in achieving bigger breakthroughs. As a reliable contractor of the ITER, the corporation consortium will further contribute Chinese wisdom and strength and shoulder the country's responsibility in international macro-science projects.
