On World Humanitarian Day, we're proud to highlight our contributions to sustainable development, enhancing people's standards of living, and improving medical care.
The China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) has promoted nuclear energy as a clean solution to global climate change. In 2023, CNNC's operational nuclear power units generated 186.47 billion kWh of electricity. This achievement is equivalent to reducing CO2 emissions by 14,657.06 tons and saving 55.94 million tons of coal, contributing to a greener future for all.
From organizing marathons and donating resources to schools, to funding community projects and hosting nuclear science popularization camps, CNNC's Rössing Uranium has been actively fulfilling its social responsibilities, making a tangible difference in the lives of people in Namibia.
Last April, CNNC hosted the China-Nigeria "Tumor Diagnosis and Treatment" training program, which contained 13 courses on nuclear medicine, radiotherapy and advanced medical technologies. This has significantly improved local diagnostic and treatment levels, fostering the growth of nuclear medicine in the region and bringing hope to more patients.
In July this year, CNNC’s China Isotope & Radiation Corporation signed on to a comprehensive supply project for nuclear medical equipment with an oncology and rehabilitation center in Nigeria, bringing Chinese expertise to the effort to enhance nuclear medicine capabilities of African countries.
