Project K-2 at Karachi Nuclear Power Plant, the first overseas reactor of China’s third-generation nuclear power technology –– the HPR1000 developed by CNNC, finished dome lifting and fixing in Pakistan on Oct 13.
It marked the completion of the civil engineering stage of the K-2 project and the start of the installation period.
For the first time, CNNC has innovatively applied the main equipment pre-introduction method in the construction of a same-type nuclear power plant, substantially shortening the duration of the critical path of the unit.
The construction of China’s self-developed third-generation nuclear power technology project has been proceeding smoothly and on schedule.
