China welcomes invitations from international organizations to work together in providing emergency humanitarian assistance to Myanmar in earthquake response, Li Ming, spokesperson for the China International Development Cooperation Agency, said on March 30.
He made the remarks in response to recent inquiries from the World Health Organization, the World Food Program, and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees expressing their interest in working with China to provide emergency humanitarian assistance to quake-hit Myanmar. Both sides can strengthen communication and coordination, leverage their respective strengths, and carry out humanitarian aid and post-disaster reconstruction to help the people in the disaster-stricken areas of Myanmar overcome the disaster and rebuild their homes as soon as possible, according to Li.
