As part of his visit to Ethiopia, Zhao Fengtao, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with the country's Minister of Finance Ahmed Shide on Oct 9.
Zhao lauded the China-Ethiopia all-weather strategic partnership, saying the bilateral ties have always been at the forefront of China-Africa relations and have yielded fruitful results in international development cooperation, setting a role model for South-South cooperation.
China is willing to further strengthen cooperation with Ethiopia under the Global Development Initiative, innovate cooperation models, expand resource channels, strengthen exchanges on state governance experience and cooperation in human resources, and jointly implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, in a bid to strive for new progress of bilateral pragmatic cooperation, he said.
Shide expressed heartfelt appreciation to China for its long-term assistance and support for the economic and social development and improvement of people's livelihoods in his country. He said that Ethiopia admires China's remarkable achievements on the path to modernization, and looks forward to continued cooperation in areas such as infrastructure construction, green energy and talent fostering, in order to achieve common development.
On the same day, Zhao and his delegation also made field visits to the China-aided Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention project and the riverside green development project.
