Sharif thanked the Chinese government for its long-term support and assistance in Pakistan's economic and social development and in the improvement of people's livelihood. He said that Pakistan is willing to deepen cooperation with China in various fields, jointly build an upgraded version of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and integrate the construction of the corridor with Pakistan's own development needs in a bid to deliver more benefits to the Pakistani people. Pakistan will take all possible measures and spare no efforts to protect the safety of Chinese personnel and projects in the country, he added.
