CIDCA chairman meets with Cuban ambassador to China

On April 19, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) Luo Zhaohui met with Cuban Ambassador to China Alberto Blanco Silva.

Luo briefed Silva on his recent visit to Cuba, saying that China attaches great importance to the development of bilateral ties and pragmatic cooperation with Cuba, and actively implements the central leadership's instructions on fully supporting Cuba in addressing temporary difficulties. China is ready to strengthen communication and coordination with Cuba, further deepen cooperation in such areas as food security, energy security and human resources development, accelerate the implementation of cooperation projects, and promote steady development of the special bilateral relations and the building of a China-Cuba community with a shared future, he said.

Silva said that the two parties, countries and peoples enjoy profound friendship, which is a model of solidarity and cooperation between socialist countries and between developing countries. He thanked China for the emergency assistance, which effectively relieved the predicament of Cuba, and pledged to actively cooperate with the Chinese side to jointly implement the consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, and strive for more positive results in development cooperation.

Vice-Chairman of the CIDCA Liu Junfeng and Minister Counselor of the Cuban Embassy in China Igor Montero also attended the meeting.
