CIDCA vice-chairman meets with state secretary of German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development

On April 10, 2024, Vice-Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) Zhao Fengtao met with State Secretary of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development Jochen Flasbarth.

Zhao said that China and Germany enjoy friendly relations and the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries has maintained high-level development. Facing a world with constant changes and conflicts, the two countries should maintain close cooperation in addressing crises and challenges and jointly inject impetus into global economic development and global governance, he said. China and Germany hold great potential for international development cooperation, and China is ready to work with Germany to jointly implement the three-year action plan for strengthening international development cooperation signed between the two sides, promote trilateral cooperation and cooperation in development financing, and jointly implement the Global Development Initiative and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, he added.

Flasbarth spoke highly of China's contributions to international development cooperation and said that Germany is willing to deepen exchanges and cooperation with China, accelerate the implementation of the three-year action plan, and build demonstration projects, to jointly help developing countries to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals at an early date.

Officials from the CIDCA's Department of International Cooperation, Second Department of Regional Affairs, and Global Development Promotion Center also attended the meeting.
