Yao affirmed the continuously deepening strategic partnership between China and Bangladesh in recent years, which has yielded notable achievements in health cooperation. This year, Bangladesh has been hit by its worst dengue fever epidemic in the country’s history. The Chinese government and people are highly concerned about the situation and promptly provided anti-dengue emergency supplies to help Bangladesh fight against the epidemic. Yao said he believes that, through the joint effort of the people of both countries, victory against dengue fever will belong to the people. He also pledged to continue working with Bangladesh to strengthen cooperation in the health sector, to bring more tangible benefits to the people of both countries.

Maleque extended his sincere appreciation to the Chinese government and people for their profound friendship. He pledged to make good use of the supplies and to bring the epidemic under control as soon as possible.
