Noting that China and Namibia enjoy a traditional friendship, Tang said that the meeting between the two heads of state in August this year set the course for the future development of China-Namibia relations. China is ready to work with Namibia to further development cooperation in various fields under the guidance of the key consensus reached between the two heads of state and within the frameworks of the Global Development Initiative and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, in a bid to improve people’s livelihoods in Namibia and continuously deepen the China-Namibia comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation, he said.

Geingob welcomed Tang on his visit and said that Namibia treasures its traditional and unique friendship with China. He lauded China's firm support and selfless assistance to African countries including Namibia for their economic and social development in good faith and on an equal footing. Namibia is ready to further strengthen cooperation with China and jointly build the Belt and Road to a high standard, in a bid to elevate bilateral ties to a higher level, he said.

Prime Minister of Namibia Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, Chinese Ambassador to Namibia Zhao Weiping, Economic and Commercial Counsellor Wei Jinming, and Deputy Director-General of the CIDCA's Second Department of Regional Affairs Zhang Lihua also attended the meeting.
