CIDCA vice-chairman meets with Dominican vice-minister of economy, planning and development

On Oct 19, 2023, Zhong Haidong, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Olaya Dotel, vice-minister for international cooperation of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development of the Dominican Republic, who was in Beijing to attend the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

Zhong noted that since the establishment of diplomatic ties five years ago, the bilateral relations between China and the Dominican Republic have witnessed rapid development under the guidance of key consensus reached between the two heads of state, yielding positive results in pragmatic cooperation. China is ready to take this forum as an opportunity to further promote the Belt and Road cooperation with the Dominican side and expand cooperation under the Global Development Initiative framework, he said.

Dotel thanked China for its invaluable support and assistance to his country’s socioeconomic development, and pledged to work closely with China to further enhance cooperation in such fields as social public governance, food security and human resource development, in order to facilitate the continuous development of bilateral ties.

The two sides also exchanged views on specific cooperation matters. Deputy Director-General of the CIDCA’s Second Department of Regional Affairs Cai Fang also attended the meeting.
