On Sept 7, 2023, a training program on combating desertification in Mongolia, organized by the Chinese government, kicked off at the Gansu Desert Control Research Institute. Thirty officials and technicians from Mongolia will participate in the 21-day training event to systematically learn China's ideas and experience in desertification prevention and ecological environment protection.
On Sept 1, Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, led a delegation to visit Mongolia, during which the two sides signed a cooperation agreement entailing the Chinese government hosting 10 training sessions on desertification control for the Mongolian government, to further support Mongolia's "One Billion Trees" initiative. The aforementioned training program is the maiden project under the agreement.
