CIDCA vice-chairman meets with UNICEF representative to China

Zhao Fengtao, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to China Amakobe Sande on June 2, 2023.

Zhao said that UNICEF, as an important agency of the UN system for children's development assistance, has contributed to the promotion of women and children's health, education, and the protection of their rights and interests. The CIDCA has always maintained close cooperation with UNICEF and is ready to continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation, and to jointly promote the implementation of the Global Development Initiative and the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Sande thanked China for its long-term contributions in safeguarding the rights and interests of women and children globally, as well as the CIDCA's support under the Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund framework. UNICEF is ready to strengthen pragmatic cooperation with the CIDCA and elevate their cooperation to a higher level, she said.

The two sides also exchanged views on specific cooperation projects. Head of the CIDCA's Global Development Promotion Center Tang Ying also attended the meeting.
