Wei said since the outbreak of COVID-19, China has strengthened cooperation with Grenada in the fight against the epidemic, sending anti-epidemic supplies, organizing video conferences with medical experts, and making donations.

The emergency medical supplies will help Grenada with the prevention and control of COVID-19, Wei said, adding that China will also beef up medical and health cooperation with the country.

With the joint efforts of both sides, according to the ambassador, several cooperation projects in airport upgrading, low-income housing construction, track-and-field ground technical cooperation, and agricultural technical cooperation have also made steady progress in spite of the adverse impact of the epidemic.

Joseph said China has always provided timely assistance when Grenada was in need. Thanks to the continuous assistance, Grenada has managed to fight the epidemic and has restored its economic and social order.

Joseph thanked the Chinese government and people for their generous help, saying that he expects the two countries to enhance friendly cooperation in medical care and public health.

Steele said China is a good friend and partner of Grenada. The Chinese government has fulfilled its commitment and provided several shipments of anti-epidemic supplies to the country.

China will also donate COVID-19 vaccines to Grenada in the near future to help control the epidemic, according to the minister.
