To support Vanuatu as the host of the 2017 Pacific Mini Games and promote the development of sports in the country, and to mark the upcoming 100th anniversary of the CPC, China assisted in the construction of the stadium for the games and provided technical and material assistance for Vanuatu.

The Prime Minister of Vanuatu and the Minister of Youth Sports visited the stadium several times, highly appreciated the quality and progress of the project, and sincerely thanked the Chinese government for its selfless help and the project technical team for its hard work.

They encouraged Vanuatu's athletes to make good use of the sports facilities and achieve good results in the games.

It also sent a shipment of sports equipment.

On Dec 4, 2017, the opening ceremony of the 10th Pacific Mini Games was held in Port Vila, Vanuatu, with the participation of about 5,000 people, including Vanuatu’s President, Prime Minister, Minister of Youth Sports and other cabinet members, as well as the Chairman of the Pacific Games Council and local people from all walks of life.
