In May 2015, eight members from the Vanuatu Plantation Association participated in a training course on hybrid rice technology, which was part of a human resource development cooperation program organized by the Chinese government.
Upon their return to Vanuatu, the eight trainees put what they've learned into practice in upland rice cultivation with the support of the Vanuatu Ministry of Agriculture and the association, and achieved a good harvest.
