"Thank you, China. You've brought digital TV programs and opened our eyes to the world. I feel like a pigeon flying in the sky." This is a song composed by teachers and students at a rural school in Maputo, Mozambique to express their wish to learn more about the world and convey their thanks to China for a cooperative project called "Access to Satellite TV for 10,000 African Villages."

At the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit held in Johannesburg, South Africa in December 2015, China announced that it would implement 10 cooperative plans with Africa in the following three years to promote the building of the China-Africa comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership. The "Access to Satellite TV for 10,000 African Villages" project is part of the cultural and people-to-people connectivity plan listed in the announcement.

The project, which offers multiple TV channels, has helped Mozambican children pursue their dreams, got them closer to China and the world, and created valuable opportunities for African people to better combat poverty with knowledge.

So far, the project has benefited 170,000 African families and covered over 6.5 million African people.
