Chinese Ambassador to Columbia Lan Hu, Columbian Foreign Minister Claudia Blum, Health Minister Fernando Ruiz and the Director General of the Presidential Agency of International Cooperation (APC-Colombia) Ángela Ospina attended the handover ceremony of Chinese medical supplies in Columbia on May 7.
Lan said that the virus is the common enemy of humankind. The only right choice for international anti-pandemic response is solidarity and mutual assistance. China is ready to provide medical supplies to Columbia as its ability allows. On the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, China and Columbia are working together to win the battle against the virus at an early date.
Blum thanked China for its help. The assistance offered by China to Columbia is a testimony of the two countries’ 40 years of friendship. It will provide great support to the government and people of Columbia especially the medical workers in their fight against the pandemic.
