Zhang Maoyu, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met on Sept 19 with Hans Guttman, executive director of the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC). They exchanged views on strengthening mutual cooperation.

CIDCA is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the ADPC and work together to improve the level of disaster prevention and mitigation capabilities in developing countries, said Zhang.
Zhang briefed China’s foreign aid policy and the situation of the South-South Cooperation Assistance Fund, adding that the Chinese government attaches great importance to developing cooperation with countries and international organizations in the areas of climate change and disaster prevention and mitigation.
Guttman said that the ADPC emphasizes cooperation with China and hopes to carry out a disaster management capacity building project with CIDCA under the framework of South-South cooperation, combine international concepts with Chinese experience and jointly help other developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region strengthen their capacity building for disaster prevention and mitigation.
