Beijing's Daxing district recently launched a year-long shopping campaign to stimulate consumption and promote high-quality economic development.

The 2023 consumption season kicked off on Feb 28. It was announced at the opening ceremony that coupons valuing 5 million yuan ($724,550) would be issued to benefit local residents, including 3 million yuan for catering and 2 million yuan for common use.

The district will offer promotional activities in major consumption areas, covering the airport economy, flagship stores, catering, the nighttime economy, cultural tourism, automobiles and home appliances.

Enterprises are being called to participate in the intangible cultural heritage temple fair, car carnival, home appliances channeling into countryside, "Double Eleven" livestreaming and other activities.
