Science, technology week gets underway in Daxing
Beijing's Daxing district kicked off exhibitions showcasing the latest scientific and technological achievements and lectures for science popularization on Aug 20, to mark China's national science and technology week.

With the theme of "Into Technology, You and I Go Together," the seven-day promotion event will be held simultaneously online and in person.
At the opening ceremony, Daxing released a map of the district’s available sci-tech resources, aiming to engage more people in a smarter work and living environment. The map presents information on the distribution of local popular science resources, incubators and service spaces for innovators, maker spaces, technological service platforms and innovation-driven enterprises.

During the event, over 30 Daxing-based key high-tech firms, which includes SINOVAC Biotech, a biopharmaceutical company focusing on the research, development, manufacturing and commercialization of vaccines, and Leyard Group, a global leader in audio-visual technology, and both will display their latest innovation achievements at themed exhibitions.

In addition, the district will hold over 20 rounds of popular science promotional and publicity gatherings, inviting more than 1,000 sci-tech workers to disseminate knowledge in enterprises, residential communities, villages and schools.
Over the past few years, the district has fostered several leading industrial clusters and attracted a large number of high-tech and innovative market entities.
As of now, Daxing district is home to 954 national high-tech enterprises, 70 incubators and maker spaces, and 159 district-level research and development institutions.
