Beijing's Daxing district is set to construct a new convention and exhibition center as an international exchange complex in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

The exhibition center, focusing on high-end innovation-based industries, will cultivate flagship exhibitions in the fields of aviation services, life and health, smart manufacturing, the digital economy and the service trade.

Also, the district has planned a comprehensive commercial development coupled with the exhibition hall to support hotel conferences, cultural tourism, industrial parks and residential areas.

"We have clarified the detailed 'timetable' to accelerate construction," said Liao Zihan, deputy general manager of Beijing New Aerotropolis, a company to serve Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone. 

"The project will be built in accordance with international standards, and after completion, it is expected to become a powerful driver of the exhibition economy in the capital."

Daxing airport area released its project concept in July 2020 to recruit top investment and operation teams worldwide, attracting lots of attention. The goal is to ensure that the international exhibition center is a benchmark facility.

Preparatory work will be finished by the end of this year, including approval submissions and the implementation plan.
