This year, the ACI has introduced a new award, "Best Hygiene Measures by Region", to commend airports that provided customers with excellent service experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Even under the dramatic impact of the disease, Daxing airport has remained committed to analyzing and satisfying passengers' needs, actively responding to challenges, and creating a hygienic and safe environment.
Technology plays an important role in its prevention measures. About 30 temperature measurement channels were designed for large passenger flow with capabilities of rapid screening, automatic calibration and face recognition.
Public venues including elevators and toilets were equipped with non-contact buttons and inductive devices to avoid the risk of cross-infection. Robots have been introduced to promote disinfection with heat and ultraviolet light.
The airport opened on Sept 25, 2019.
