Beijing held a publicity event at the 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai on Nov 5. Zhu Guangyao, deputy head of Beijing's Daxing district promoted the Daxing International Free Trade Zone (FTZ) at the event.

He noted that the district is set to drive the growth of the Daxing airport area of the Beijing and Hebei FTZs by carrying out trials in administration, investment, trade management, financial innovation, service supervision and fiscal and taxation systems.

Meanwhile, efforts will be made to boost economic cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, and create a connection point for global innovation resources.

In 2020, the airport area's planning system has been improved, and its transportation network, infrastructure and public service facilities have ushered in a substantive new construction stage.

High-quality projects including the comprehensive bonded zone, the life and health industrial park, convention and exhibition centers, international consumption hubs and aviation headquarters have all begun to attract global investment.

More than 130 people from the Ministry of Commerce and the Beijing municipal government, international organizations, foreign business associations, embassies and consulates in China, and multinational companies attended the event.
