A high-end industries area for China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone was unveiled at Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone on Sept 28.
Being entitled to the preferential policies of both Beijing FTZ and Hebei FTZ, the area aims to develop itself into a major recipient of innovative global resources and strive to build a high-level opening-up platform for the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
According to the approval document released by the State Council, the Beijing Pilot FTZ will include three areas: a scientific and technological innovation area, an international business service and the newly-unveiled high-end industries area.
The area, covering 39.49 square kilometers, will focus on commercial services, international finance, cultural creativity, biotechnology, and the general healthcare sectors to bolster emerging industries.
The project leader of the Daxing airport economic zone administrative committee noted that the area plans to give full play to the scale and geographical advantages of a world-class aviation hub, and explore the use of a local biomedical, cultural and creative industrial base.
Efforts will be made centering on institutional innovation to promote international exchanges and foster new competitive advantages in terms of quality, efficiency and impetus of economic development.
It is expected to adopt more flexible opening-up policies for its industries and industrial parks, trying out a negative list of cross-border service trade, and increasing tax incentives for venture capital, technology transfer and employment of foreign talents.
