The park raises animals using free-ranging and mixed-raising approaches. It has divided areas for free-ranging observation, walk-through observation, animal performance, science education, and a kids’ zoo, along with 32 themed venues. Upholding the mission of “protecting animals and forests”, the park highlights an overall theme of natural preservation featuring the harmonized coexistence of “animals and humans, animals and forests”, and tries to draw people closer to animals in that thematic atmosphere. By enhancing human contact with animals the park has changed the conventional approach in which animals are caged and replaced it with barrier-free observation.
The park advocates “love for “wildlife” with well-designed buildings, woods, and scenery. In the free-ranging area, wolves, cattle, lions, and baboons share a common habitat. With proper control on the number of animals, the park seeks to achieve a dynamic balance among the animals, which induces balanced interaction and impressive visual impacts. In the walk-through area, visitors have close contacts with such docile animals as deer, roes, and squirrels. In a forest-like environment, a first-hand experience is enabled through which people can learn about animals and nature.

To guarantee safety in the wake of the novel coronavirus outbreak, the park has introduced strict measures for epidemic prevention and control under the guidance of the Beijing Bureau of Culture and Tourism.
To avoid crowds, the park provides zero-contact services for customers including online payment. Visitors are asked to keep a safe distance of at least one meter and to sit apart while riding in electric sightseeing vehicles and cable cars.
The attraction will regularly sterilize its tourist service center, service counter and facilities used by customers. The indoor catering services will not open, and all visitors will lunch outside of the dining hall.
