Enjoying the autumn sights in Daxing
China's Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, fell on Sept 13 this year and brought much joy to Chinese communities in Yufa town, Daxing district.
The town held celebrations a day early, on September 12, and 32 holiday activities were held throughout the district.
Mid-Autumn festival coincides with reunion of those relocated to airport
This year's Mid-Autumn Festival coincided with the first anniversary of villagers being relocated to new homes in the Beijing Daxing International Airport area. Yufa town held a celebration for the momentous occasion.
A year ago, more than 20,000 villagers from Yufa and Lixian towns began being resettled. The villagers have received the chance to begin a new life in the city. During Mid-Autumn Festival, villagers gathered at their new homes to celebrate.

A Mid-Autumn Festival event was held in Anding town, Daxing district which featured handcrafted moon cakes, painted rabbits, and classical poems. A series of outstanding live shows were also performed.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for appreciating the moon and eating mooncakes, a traditional Chinese dessert.
The Commerce Commission of Daxing District held a celebration entitled "Reunion and Prosperity" from September 7 to 15. The commission instructed four commercial complexes – Daxing Green Land, Colorful City, Longhu, Huiju and Vanke in Jiugong town – to extend their business hours and integrate the Mid-Autumn Festival folklore and tradition into night activities.
In the evening, a show was held in Daxing green city featuring tea art, guqin, ancient poems, a writing ceremony, a Han-style costume show and literary creations.
