As the 2019 Beijing Daxing International Airport is to be open to navigation, a series of projects to guarantee navigation are also in progress. On the morning of April 28, the first municipal linear project to guarantee navigation of Beijing Daxing International Airport undertaken by Daxing District was partially completed - the west road of the airport was completed, which is of great significance to ensure that 2019 Beijing Daxing International Airport will be navigable as scheduled. 

The west road of the airport starts from Dali Road in the north and goes to Huanchang Road (north of Yongding River) in the south. It is planned to be an urban sub-arterial road whose red line is 40 meters wide, design speed is 50Km/h, and length is about 10.6Km. It is the main channel for Beijing Daxing International Airport to communicate and connect with the external world and the municipal channel for energy supply. 

It is understood that the west road is an important project for the smooth navigation of Beijing Daxing International Airport. Beijing New Navigation City Company who is responsible for serving Beijing Daxing International Airport and building the airport economic zone, undertook the construction of the west road. In order to ensure the completion of this project, Daxing District Government, relevant organs and Beijing New Navigation City Company worked together to formulate various contingency plans. 

According to the relevant person in charge of Beijing New Navigation City Company, in order to ensure the integration of each stage of work, the company has launched a daily scheduling system to fully schedule the construction units such as design, supervision and construction units to ensure the smooth progress of the project. Based on the node goals, each work task is decomposed and assigned to each individual. On the problems existing in the construction site, various solutions were put forward. Besides, all participating units were organized to calculate the optimal construction period of each process of the west road project on the premise of ensuring the quality of engineering entities and construction safety. In addition, the sample plate guide system was introduced to maximize the technical and management advantages of all participating units, ensuring that all participating units can carry out their work in accordance with the unified construction arrangement and guaranteeing the smooth implementation of the project. 

It is worth mentioning that the west road project is the first completed municipal linear project to guarantee navigation of Beijing Daxing International Airport. At the same time, entrusted by Daxing District Government, Beijing New Navigation City Company will undertake a series of navigation guarantee tasks such as the construction of Yongxing Hebei Road and comprehensive pipe gallery project, Dali Road and comprehensive pipe gallery project, Qingli Road and comprehensive pipe gallery project. These projects are important channels for public traffic and energy supply in Beijing Daxing International Airport. After being open to navigation as scheduled by the end of September this year, Beijing Daxing International Airport will, together with the Capital International Airport, serve the Asia Pacific and the whole world, and form an important node of the air corridor of the Belt and Road initiative . At present, Daxing District is making every effort to ensure the smooth navigation of Beijing Daxing International Airport and build a new image. We will focus on integration of the port and the city, adhere to high standard and high quality, take multiple measures to serve the airport's navigation and operation, plan and build a high-level airport economic zone, and build Daxing District into a new power source for the country's development, a new engine for coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, and a new development center in the southern part of the capital.

The Beijing part of the airport economic zone covers 50 square kilometers and is mainly divided into east and west areas. The east area, Lixian Town, is mainly used for the development of international business, aviation technology, modern logistics, business services, aviation services and other industries. The west area, Yufa Town, is mainly used for the development of comprehensive services, cultural leisure, creative office and other industries.

On October 23, 2012, Beijing New Navigation City Company was jointly established by Beijing Yizhuang Investment Holdings Limited and Daxing District. It undertakes the main responsibility of serving Beijing Daxing International Airport and building the airport economic zone. On October 8, 2013, entrusted by the Beijing municipal government, Beijing New Navigation City Company became the main development and construction unit of the Beijing Daxing International Airport Airport Economic Zone, undertaking development and construction, investment and financing, operation and management, and resource integration.
