Recently, the government of Daxing district issued a list of 28 major work targets for 2019 to improve people’s well-being. The list touches every aspect of people's lives.

By working to achieve the targets mentioned in the list, the Daxing government aims to make people feel happiness and a sense of safety and gain.

Picked from citizen service hotline topics and with a full account of the focus of Beijing and the Daxing district governments’ attention, the targets in the list are very practical and are closely concerned with education, employment, public health service, providing for the aged and citizens’ living conditions.

The solicitation of people’s livelihood topics began in September 2018 through the following methods.  

The Daxing government issued notices on different platforms such as TV, websites and new media, collecting public opinions and suggestions. Working teams of Daxing District also visited villages, communities and enterprises to listen to people’s voices, and the Daxing government consulted deputies of the regional People’s Congress and members of the regional People's Political Consultative Conference.   

The Daxing government analyzed data of service hotlines and the frequently mentioned issues of citizen’s greatest concern on the Internet, combining them with the key jobs of Beijing and Daxing district in improving people’s livelihoods for 2019.

In addition, Daxing hired a company specialized in vox pop and panel surveys to collect public opinions face-to-face.

After that solicitation of views the government took into account the differences in people's needs and explored the possibilities for the projects by paying field visits to specific areas and holding panel discussions.

The list of 28 major livelihood work targets for 2019 was then formed, with projects ranging from building schools and elder care centers and renovating older residential communities to increasing parking space.
