Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly visited the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone on Jan 11 to attend the inauguration of ELITE Solar's photovoltaic manufacturing base in Egypt. He was joined by Arndt E. Lutz, CEO of ELITE Solar's US operations.
The newly commissioned industrial base brings together two facilities — one for photovoltaic cells and the other for modules — covering mid-to-downstream manufacturing from core components to finished products.
With an annual capacity of 4 GW, the project is well positioned to serve markets across the Middle East, Africa and Europe, benefiting from Egypt's maritime connectivity, supportive policies and growing industrial cluster.

At the ceremony, Madbouly said the project represents a key step forward in Egypt's efforts to attract advanced manufacturing and accelerate its transition toward a green economy.
For ELITE Solar, Egypt is more than a production site. It is a strategic hub within the company's global manufacturing network, allowing localized production to meet regional demand while supplying international markets.
As a global provider of PV system solutions, ELITE Solar has established manufacturing operations across Asia and the Middle East-Africa region. The full launch of the Egypt base expands ELITE Solar's global footprint and underscores the long-term viability and global value of its multi-regional manufacturing strategy.
Founded in 2005, the ELITE Solar brand has been based in Wuxi National Hi-Tech District since 2013, focusing on sustained growth in photovoltaic and energy storage businesses.
