XREAL wins gold at 2025 Edison Awards for breakthrough AR chip

The spatial computing chip, X1, independently developed by XREAL, a company based in the Wuxi National Hi-Tech District (WND) recently won gold at 2025 Edison Awards.

Founded in 1987 and named after inventor Thomas Edison, the Edison Awards are often referred to as the "Oscars of Innovation" and recognize groundbreaking advancements that reshape industries and propel human progress. The judging panel includes over 3,000 leading scholars, industry leaders, and cross-sector experts worldwide.

The XREAL X1 is the world's first spatial computing chip designed specifically for AR glasses. It is already integrated into the XREAL One, enabling users to enjoy cinema-quality spatial displays anytime and anywhere.

XREAL currently operates the world's first mass-production-grade advanced AR optical module manufacturing base. The company has applied for and obtained 662 patents, and has raised over $300 million in funding. According to IDC, XREAL captured 47.2 percent of the global AR glasses market share in the first half of 2024.
