(wndonline.cn)Updated: 2024-06-20

Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, also known as Wuxi New District, aims to become a major talent center and innovation hub within the Yangtze River Delta region. By 2025, the district anticipates a total talent pool of 333,000 individuals.

Wuxi Vocational College of Science and Technology, the first vocational college in Jiangsu province established by a high-tech district, has played a crucial role in supporting regional industrial transformation over the past two decades. According to Zhang Guohua, Party secretary of the college, about 70 percent of its over 40,000 graduates have remained in Wuxi, with 45 percent working in key enterprises within WND.

An example of this talent-driven innovation is Zhang Bo, founder of Wuxi Amit Smart Medical Technology Co Ltd. Since relocating to WND in 2020, Zhang has developed China's first robotic arm capable of performing medical navigation.

"In the early stages of settling here, the local government provided comprehensive support, from site selection to business registration. They also granted us 1 million yuan ($137,820) in startup funds, which enabled our research results to enter clinical trials," said Zhang.
