Hideo Izumi, president of Japan's Alps Alpine, one of the world's largest developers of electronic components and audio products, visited Wuxi New District on May 23.
During the visit, Izumi expressed confidence in the future growth of Alps Alpine's Wuxi operations. He highlighted the company's stable production, advancing technology, and continuous product innovation since its establishment in the district in 1995.
Izumi announced that Alps Alpine will deepen its investment in Wuxi, leveraging new opportunities to expand its presence in the smartphone market and the electric vehicle sector. The company plans to invest significantly in smart and green factory technologies, further expanding its reach in both Chinese and international markets.
Zhou Wendong, vice-mayor of Wuxi, acknowledged the long-standing collaboration of nearly three decades between Alps Alpine and Wuxi. The company's WND factory has been one of its most crucial production bases globally and a leader in high-end personal consumer electronics.
Zhou highlighted Wuxi's robust growth in industries such as semiconductors, 5G communications, artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, and smart computing. He expressed hope for continued collaboration between Alps Alpine and Wuxi to capitalize on the expanding consumer electronics market.
In 2023, Alps Alpine's Wuxi operations achieved sales nearing 10 billion yuan ($1.38 billion).
