The groundbreaking ceremony for the Wuxi-Lianyungang SRDI Industrial Park took place in the Lianyungang Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone on March 14.

Spanning an area of about 24 hectares, the SRDI (specialized, refined, differential, and innovative) industrial park boasts a total investment of around 3.5 billion yuan ($486.29 million). Aiming to build a green, low-carbon, digitized and intelligent base, the park will focus on attracting companies involved in high-end equipment manufacturing, next-generation information technology, new energy, industrial design and e-commerce.

Currently, the park has reached agreements for three major projects with a total investment of about 8.9 billion yuan.

Addressing all in attendance at the ceremony, Cui Rongguo, Party secretary of Wuxi's Xinwu district, also known as Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, said that the district will leverage its experience and advantages in industrial park development, operation, and management to provide comprehensive support for the industrial park in Lianyungang.

Li Feng, a Party official of the Lianyungang hi-tech zone, urged the new park to deploy facilities such as solar panels and charging piles, as well as utilize digital technologies such as 5G, big data, and cloud computing, striving to build a first-class industrial park.
