Dafangqiao village, located in Hongshan sub-district in Xinwu district, Wuxi, was recently listed among China's most beautiful leisure villages by the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Affairs.
In recent years, the village has made strong progress in infrastructure construction, characteristic industries, grassroots governance, and rural tourism.
Based on the needs of local residents, the village has actively promoted the standardization of village-level public service centers. It has built a comprehensive cultural service center with an indoor area of 570 square meters and an outdoor area of 2,140 sq m. E-book reading rooms, bookstores, elderly activity centers and many other places have increased recreational options for villagers.
The village has also promoted the integrated development of agriculture and rural tourism. Local grapes developed in the village won provincial and municipal awards several times.
In addition, as the villages were included as part of the Hongshan Tourism Resort, more efforts will be made in environmental management and protection, cultural promotion and Party construction.
