A six-story parking lot totaling more than 20,000 square meters opened in the Comprehensive Bonded Zone of Wuxi National Hi-tech District on May 23.

The parking lot is equipped with two elevators and can accommodate 1,500 electric bicycles and more than 500 cars at once.

Operated by Wuxi Murata Electronics, the parking lot is equipped with about 1,500 solar panels to power itself and the company's production.

According to the company, double-sided power generation panels on the roof of the parking lot can receive light even on their back side to improve the power generation efficiency of each installation area.

In addition, solar panels were also installed on the walls on the east and south sides of the parking lot, increasing the solar energy absorption rate of the same land area by a factor of 1.2.

The parking lot has an annual power generation capacity of 760,000 kilowatt-hours, which can power 300 average households. It is estimated to consume only 40,000 kWh of electricity each year and will save 720,000 kWh of electricity and more than 500,000 yuan ($74,250) in electricity bills for Wuxi Murata Electronics, which is expected to achieve negative carbon emissions.
