WND to promote digital economy

Wuxi National Hi-tech District hosted the digital economy conference - intelligent transformation, digital transformation, and greenification promotion conference on March 10.

During the conference, the Wuxi National Hi-tech District Digital Economy Industrial Park, National Green Industrial Park, and Saisheng Digital Economy High-quality Development Promotion Center were unveiled.

Guan Xiaohong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a video keynote speech. Yu Xiuming, director of the Software Application and Service Center of the China Electronics Standardization Institute of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, took the "Roadmap for Integrated Services for the Digital Transformation of the Manufacturing Industry" as an example of digital transformation.

In 2021, the core industry revenue of the digital economy in WND exceeded 310 billion yuan ($48.83 billion). Home to 37 percent of digital economy enterprises in Wuxi, WND contributed 48 percent of the city's digital economy core industrial revenue, ranking first in the city.

WND has developed three 100 billion yuan-level core digital economy industrial clusters, including the new-generation information technology industry led by the internet of things, the equipment manufacturing industry revolving around the intelligent manufacturing, and the software industry focusing on high-end software.

It has also been named a National New-type Industrialization Industry Demonstration Base for Electronic Information (Sensor Network), National Integrated Circuit Design Industrialization Base, National Microelectronics High-tech Industrial Base, and Jiangsu Big Data Industrial Park.

WND will strive to have a digital economy with an output of 450 billion yuan by 2025 and is expected to become a national intelligent manufacturing pilot area.
