Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province hosted a video conference with South Korean semiconductor supplier SK Hynix on Dec 28 to promote further cooperation.
Wuxi Party Secretary Du Xiaogang, as well as Noh Jong-won, president and chief marketing officer at SK Hynix, attended the conference.
Du thanked SK Hynix for its long-term support for the development of Wuxi, and briefly introduced Wuxi's economic and social development this year, with a particular focus on the development of the integrated circuit industry.
He said that SK Hynix is an old friend of the Wuxi people and an important contributor to the high-quality development and modernization of Wuxi.
Du added that at present and for a period of time in the future, Wuxi's promotion of high-quality development and modernization will require the active participation and support of partners such as SK Hynix.
Du expressed hope that the two parties will continue working together to deepen exchanges and strengthen matchmaking in various fields, such as integrated circuits, carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, medical care, and education.
Noh said that SK hynix will continue to increase investment in Wuxi and work to increase the competitiveness of its Wuxi factory through technological upgrading. The company will actively cooperate with Wuxi enterprises with growth potential to further open up the upstream and downstream sections of the industrial chain.
In recent years, SK Hynix has achieved diversified development in Wuxi, and since the establishment of its Wuxi branch in 2005, the total investment of the company has exceeded $20 billion, making it the largest foreign investment project in Jiangsu province.
