Wuxi National Hi-tech District signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Bosch (China) Investment Co and Weifu High-Technology Group on Sept 8.
According to the agreement, the three parties will work together on Bosch China's first carbon-neutral consulting project.
Wuxi Party Secretary Du Xiaogang said that he expects that Bosch, which owns advanced carbon emission reduction programs and extensive industrial application scenarios, can help the city achieve its goal of green development.
In 2020, Bosch Group achieved carbon neutrality in research and development, as well as manufacturing in more than 400 business locations. It is the world's first large-scale industrial enterprise to achieve carbon neutrality.
Bosch will team with Weifu High-Technology Group to build a provincial and municipal low-carbon demonstration enterprise and strive to be carbon neutral, according to officials.
Officials from WND noted that with the establishment of the country's first carbon-neutral special fund worth 10 billion yuan ($1.55 billion) on Sept 6, WND plans to build the Wuxi Zero-Carbon Technology Industrial Park into a well-known zero-carbon industrial cluster and an industry application demonstration site in the Yangtze River Delta region. Its larger goal is to create a state-level green industry development demonstration base and a national high-tech zone green development demonstration park.
