Xinwu district of Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province ranked 20th among China's top 100 districts in terms of high-quality development, according to an announcement made by CCID Consulting Urban Economic Research Center on Aug 17.
The list was determined by research focusing on the high-quality development index of China's 906 prefecture-level cities and municipal districts, which is based on key indexes like economic strength, growth momentum, endogenous support, regional energy level, as well as shared development.
Wuxi's Liangxi district and Xishan district were also included on the list, ranking 86th and 98th respectively.
To improve its core competitiveness, Xinwu district strives to develop new industries, revitalize commerce and trade, as well as strengthen production and marketing matchmaking.
The district has achieved remarkable results in transforming old and new kinetic energy, fostering strong endogenous dynamics, upgrading cityscapes, as well as improving people's livelihoods and social well-being.
